Our client, a leading player in the maritime industry, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Procurement Associate to join their team. This role is ideal for a recent graduate who has successfully completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme in Nigeria and is eager to launch their career in procurement within the maritime sector.
Responsibilities
- Supplier Management:
- Assist in identifying and evaluating potential suppliers.
- Maintain supplier databases and ensure accuracy of supplier information.
- Support the negotiation of terms and conditions with suppliers.
- Procurement Processes:
- Help in preparing and issuing purchase orders.
- Track order status and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Manage procurement documentation and records efficiently.
- Market Research:
- Conduct research to identify market trends and potential suppliers.
- Analyze market data to make informed procurement decisions.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with other departments to understand procurement needs and specifications.
- Provide support in resolving any procurement-related issues or discrepancies.
- Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Assist in preparing reports and documentation for procurement activities.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Maritime Studies, or a related field.
- Experience: Must have completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme in Nigeria.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with procurement processes and terminology is a plus.
- Personal Attributes:
- Highly motivated and eager to learn.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
